2 1/2 cups English peas (1 package Trader Joe’s)
3 cloves garlic cleaned and chopped
1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
Cracked black pepper
(makes 3 servings)
Place the chopped garlic in a small pan with olive oil on low for 2-4 minutes. Make sure the garlic doesn’t burn because once it turns brown it will taste bitter. Add in the peas and give it a good stir, then turn it up to medium for about 5 minutes stirring occasionally. Turn it down to low for 5 more minutes stirring occasionally. Add fresh cracked black pepper to taste and viola, a quick healthy side dish that looks and tastes gourmet.
PS: Sometimes if I have leftover peas I’ll toss them into a green salad cold.
