 Broccoli Smash

 

Ingredients:

12 oz Broccoli Crowns
1/2 Cup filtered water
3-5 Cloves Fresh garlic (chopped)
1 Teaspoon chili flakes
3-4 TBSP Olive oil

Boa Santa Monica is one of my favorite restaurants. Recently a new item was added to their menu, a smashed broccoli! This recipe is inspired by the dish I enjoyed at Boa.

Place the broccoli crowns and water in a medium pot or saucepan on medium/low heat with the lid slightly askew. Check regularly and stir your broccoli around. Let cook for approximately 20-22 minutes. Once the broccoli looks bright green turn the heat off.

Mash it up with either an electric hand mixer or a masher. Add chopped garlic, chili flakes, olive oil, and continue mashing. Once it is all smashed your broccoli smash is ready. Delicious… simple… healthy!
