You Are What You Eat!

Touring is great fun and to say I love my job is a gross understatement. But no matter how strong the love is, reality cannot be denied. Being on the road touring a different city every day or every other day is grueling and takes its toll. Most meals are fast food or in airports. Function takes precedence over preference. I would prefer to eat well, but being in a state of constant travel doesn’t always leave time to hunt down healthy options.

So, here’s my rule of thumb. No bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, nothing artificially preserved in a jar or can, nothing deep-fried, and no butter or salt unless I am indulging or going for sweet baked goods (usually a cupcake). Of course there are exceptions to the rule. Whole grain bread and pasta, sweet potatoes, and brown rice are good. I cook with olive oil and plenty of spices to keep my dishes tasty and flavorful.
