IMPASSIONED SINGER/SONGWRITER KATRINA WOLVERTON IGNITING

END-OF-SUMMER “HEATWAVE” AUGUST 21st!

FIERY VOCALIST RELEASES NEW SINGLE WITH INTRICATELY CRAFTED LYRIC VIDEO CREATED BY RENOWNED VISUAL ARTIST SQUINDO

(August 19, 2015: New York, NY) – Multi-talented singer/songwriter Katrina Woolverton rolls out another exciting new chapter in her career perfectly timed to close out the summer!  The gifted vocalist is set to release a sizzling new single “Heatwave” co- produced by British producer/musician Jez Coad (Surfing Brides, Simple Minds) and New Zealand producer/artist Gladius.

The scorching new song will be available everywhere – including iTunes, Amazon and all other retail formats – beginning August 21.  The effervescent pop gem is the first offering from Katrina’s upcoming album Long Time Coming, due out in 2016.

Accompanying the eagerly anticipated “Heatwave” is a much-buzzed about lyric video created by acclaimed visual artist SQUINDO. The intricately etched clip completes a double-dose of scorching Katrina-power!

SQUINDO joined forces with Katrina to render a magical lyrical video for her first release since 2013, ably capturing the song’s combustible theme. The in-demand illustrator has previously created artwork and merchandising product for multiple music stars including Metallica, Pink, the Ramones, Green Day, Korn, and others (as well as designing merchandise for noted skate board, skiing, tattoo, and more).

Katrina personally chose SQUINDO as a creative collaborator for his one-of-a-kind auteurship.  “‘Heatwave’ is a whole new sonic crescendo for me and I know SQUINDO loves to be inspired by the music and let his imagination soar,” said Katrina. “I’m thrilled that fans will be able to enjoy the song and experience the video as an added bonus.” SQUINDO also commented:  “The video was a blast to make. ‘Heatwave’ is a catchy song that presented so many visual paths to go down when it came to the theme of ‘overheating’. I warned Katrina that I was putting her in the desert with these ominous looking vultures flying overhead and just like the song, she welcomed me turning the temperature up even more.”

The sultry “Heatwave” is positioned as a worthy follow-up to her memorable 2012 album debut, In The Blink Of An Eye, which fired up the Billboard charts with hits “Shame On Me” and “So Eden,” among other songs.  Katrina’s accomplished vocal style garnered the attention of award winning national radio host, and SiriusXM‘s VP Pop Programming, Kid Kelly who calls her “lovely, talented…an artist you should know about.” Kelly’s dedicated airplay support helped bring attention to her music on SiriusXM’s Hits1, 20 on 20, The Pulse and The Blend while also garnering terrestrial radio airplay nationwide.

Her new album, Long Time Coming features several other writing collaborators, including, Amy Wadge (Ed Sheeran and others), Wendy Starland (Lady Gaga, Moby, Snoop Dogg and others) and Gladius who helms the debut single “Heatwave.”

Blessed with a multi-octave range and a musical intelligence that informs each shade, Katrina was recognized early on as a unique and formidable talent. The Los Angeles native made her initial music “debut” on the popular TV show Star Search, having won the Junior Vocalist Category over the late R&B star Aaliyah. The show was a precursor to today’s singing competition series, and the platform that helped launch Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Usher and Justin Timberlake, among other stars. The show garnered her immediate attention from record companies and other industry tastemakers but family upheaval would dictate unforeseen challenges and a switch in life-paths for the young Katrina. The determined singer would decide to ‘table’ her singing aspirations for a while and pursue both a college and law degree – but she never stopped nurturing her musical destiny.

Now firmly in charge of her own career, Katrina’s trademark brand of illuminating pop and searing love songs has adrenalized the power-singer repertoire. The hard-working artist has also toured across the US, extensively, including a national tour with the legendary icon Meat Loaf, as well as hosting her own live jaunts in the U.S. and UK. She recently performed at the 2015 Special Olympics in Los Angeles!

Duly amped for the August 21 release of “Heatwave,” the empowering vocalist is now poised for even greater horizons with a song perfectly primed to wrap up the summer!

SQUINDO has also written and illustrated numerous books, with his acclaimed artistry showcased in multiple galleries across the country. For more information about SQUINDO visit www.squindo.net
