Mammoth Mountain is one of my favorite places in the world. In the winter it is a world class ski resort. In summertime the hiking trail choices and fishing locations are endless. Year round it is a training area for countless Olympic Athletes.

What most people don’t know is that Mammoth Lakes is a foodie destination haven. So here is my passionate foodie lover’s hit list.

Nevados Restaurant Street View

Nevados Cocktail and Menu

Nevado’s menu has a variety of options and everything coming out of that kitchen is absolutely delicious. Their sign outside says “fine food and spirits” but it should also say fine people! This family owned and operated Mammoth Lakes establishment is an institution. It’s a white table cloth experience that’s still casual and family friendly. A quick tip, you don’t need a reservation, and waiting for a few minutes at the bar for a table is always fun, but it can’t hurt to call ahead. They are not only known for their delicious dishes and generous portions, but also for the strongest drinks around- so if you are planning to have even one cocktail be sure to call a taxi! Nevado’s is my favorite spot in town and my #1 foodie pick. (dinner) nevadosrestaurant.com

The Breakfast Club- Coffee, biscuit and menu
The Breakfast Club- The Breakfast Club coffee shop has the best breakfast in town with daily fresh from scratch baked goods, like muffins, cinnamon rolls, and their famous biscuits. They even make special occasion cakes on pre-order. I love their eggs and scrambles, and I cannot resist those biscuits! When it comes to devouring a biscuit I don’t even pretend to be civilized about it, especially if it is snowing out. (open 6:30a.m.-1:30p.m.) The-Breakfast-Club

Roberto's Street View
Roberto’s Cafe- Roberto’s has the best Mexican food around. Never have I heard anyone say the dish they ordered wasn’t the best Mexican food they’ve ever had. I love the chicken fajitas. All of their food is so fresh & spicy. Dine in or take out, they don’t deliver. In the summer we sit outside and take the dog. Yum. (11am-Close)

Giovanni's with Mammoth Mountain reflection in the window
Giovanni’s Restaurant & Bar- Giovanni’s is the best delivery in Mammoth. They have terrific pizzas and other Italian favorites like pastas, meatballs, minestrone soup, lasagna, and a variety of salads. I always look forward to spending an evening in and Giovanni’s coming to my door! (11:30am-9pm. Note: some prefer eating at the restaurant since they have a great salad bar too.) giovannismammoth.com

Restaurant at Convict Lake- dinner
The Restaurant at Convict Lake- Don’t let the name fool you. Convict Lake’s Restaurant is a fine dining experience to rival any other, and it’s quite romantic. Enough said. (Dinner. Call for a reservation.) convictlake.com
