Ingredients:
Smoked Salmon AKA Lox
Fresh Lemon Juice
Capers
Red Onion
Cream Cheese

For better or worse we are conditioned to eat certain things with “mandatory” accompaniments. For example, no one says “I am eating lox.” It is always “I am going to have bagels & lox.” Changing it up has never been a problem in my kitchen. As you may see by now, for me there are no rules when it comes to food. If you are craving, eat.

This recipe is delicious, satisfies the lox cravings, and is still healthy enough to eat when on a strict diet or if you just want to lighten things up a bit. Warning: I have no problem with bagels, it’s that I like my bagel with cream cheese, a slice of tomato, and a sprinkle of black pepper.

How do you make lox my way?? Easy!

First, get your hands on some delicious lox. Serving size is about 3 slices per person. Spread out your lox on a platter, squeeze lemon over it. Take some plain cream cheese – light or regular, I prefer light & whipped- then add a few capers and some thinly sliced red onion. Eat as is or roll it up.

There you go! Protein style lox, or as I refer to them “Naked Lox.”

Xo,
K
